To cut to the chase, this produces a very good MEDIUM roast style cup of coffee…period. Some folks tend to compare all coffees to one another no matter what the bean is and how it’s roasted. I do roast my own green beans (home roaster) when I brew a pot of coffee every morning and use the K-Cups when only a single cup is needed. If you don’t like that ‘in your face’ dark roast, dense, heavy style of coffee in the morning (or any time for that matter) this is definitely the coffee for you. It’s not bitter, a bit floral, with a true pure coffee taste. Does it match Dunkin Donuts style coffee in taste? I’d say YES to that when using the middle cup size setting on the Keurig brewer….which I use for folks that take milk in their cup, I use the larger cup setting because I drink my coffee black and like that taste profile. The new packaging is OK (you get 2 extra K-Cups for the $$) as long as you have the room in your kitchen to store the larger single box….as opposed to storing the two 24 cartridge boxes.

Ekobre cup review

Just got the Ekobrew today and tried it out. I have been a Solofill fan since they came out but the Ekobrew design seems to beat the Solofill. First off, the flat bottom makes it easy to fill. I usually run two cycles for a larger cup of coffee. With the Ekobrew the lid stays shut and doesn’t leak water at the top. I was surprised how easily the grounds came out and just a quick rinse and it was ready to go again. Seems to be the best choice around for avoiding the high cost of K cups.

Green Mountain Coffee Pumpkin Spice Review

I received a Keurig machine for my birthday last month. I have tried so many types of k-cups I’ve lost count! But, the Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice is one I’m sticking with. I wish it was offered year round, because when I run out; I am really going to miss it! It may not be an extra bold flavor, but it is full of flavor when used on the 6 ounce setting. I’ve been using two teaspoons of non-flavored liquid creamer and one teaspoon of sugar to a 6 ounce cup, and it tastes really good! It’s the closest thing to a pumpkin spice latte I can make in the comfort of my own home. As a person who is relatively new to Keurig, I have learned that it is best to use exact measurements with cream and sugar, so you can figure out exactly how you like it and stick with it, so you can have a perfect cup of coffee every time. I should also mention that I do not normally like flavored coffees, but I love this one!

Jet Fuel K Cup Review

My husband likes his coffee extremely strong, so much so that I brew the 5 oz cups and double up on the kcups in a large mug. Basically, he likes sludge, lol.
He had been drinking Timothy’s French Roast, but the price has gone up again and I really despise the packaging. Really…they’re kcups, not bone china, why the need for 2 packages, carboard, plastic and another box?
I like the fact that these kcups come in a single box, not as much waste.
Anyway, my picky husband said that this coffee was surprisingly good. I’m happy without the extra packaging and the lower price tag.

Pro: I got the Keurig coffee brewer as a gift.  To be honest with you I don’t think I would have every bought one for myself since I tend to be somewhat traditional and didn’t think about owning a single brew coffee machine.  I hesitated to use it but I gave it a try since it was a gift from my daughter.  I got hooked! Unlike my other traditional coffee maker it doesn’t make a horrible choking gurgle whenever I want to brew a cup of coffee and offers all the convenience of setting a brew time so that my first cup of coffee is brewed automatically for me.  I love waking up to the smell of coffee not to the sound of an old coffee maker brewing and churning away.  It’s a really high quality product.  I recommend it.

Con: It’s still a coffee maker (no matter how cool it looks) that can only brew 1-2 cups at a time.  In a small kitchen its a luxury and not very practical if you entertain a lot.

Pro: I love hot chocolate.  Seriously love it and I end up going to get coffee shop hot chocolate fairly frequently which gets expensive fast.  My Mom has a Keurig and now I just order my own Timothy’s brand hot chocolate and brew it at home.  I don’t have to go outside where it’s cold and I don’t have to spend a fortune anymore!

Con:  I can understand how someone would be very picky about the brew of coffee or tea that they have.  But finicky about hot chocolate?  Come on! All hot chocolates are the same from powder mix and nothing special. When a can of hot chocolate mix can be had for around $3.00 for about at least 100 cups of hot chocolate, why would you even explore a more expensive option?  K cups aren’t cheap.  That’s for sure.

The re usable K Cup is easy to use.  Simply insert it into the built in pod basket of your Keurig Brewer and measure the desired amount of coffee or loose tea leaves and set to brew. K Cup Filter Review

Pro: I feel far better about using a reuseable filter than throwing out all the plastic containers from using the K Cups. I never felt good about that but living alone I frequently threw out full pots of coffee because I never drank that much on my own.  My Keurig was a great gift I received but being environmentally minded the waste generated from the empty cups  was a bit much to take over the long run.  Particularly since I was going through about 5-7 of them per day they certainly would have added up quickly at the land fill.  This is a far better solution.  Good Job!

Con:  Well at least they did one thing right.  In an age where we are supposed to be educated and diligent on our environmental choices and the amount of refuse that we generate it never did make sense to me that everyone jumped on board with Keurig brewers.

Pro:  I can’t say enough about the variety packs.  You know sometimes manufacturers avoid giving consumers variety packs because they want to promote the larger more higher priced bulk packages.  Not in this case.  It’s like Keurig realized that there was a lot of benefit to making variety packs available both in terms of customer satisfaction and in exposing customers to new product samples encouraging them to be diverse in what they order.  It’s great marketing and great customer service in my opinion.

Con: While on the onset I think variety packs are a great deal the reality is inevitably there is one or two flavors that you aren’t going to like which are included in the variety pack.  I solved this by “trading off” with my friend.  She brings her “undesireables” over and we swap!

Pro: I entertain a lot and have something like an open door policy when it comes to my kitchen.  One of the things my guests absolutely love is the Keurig brewer and I swear they race to see who gets there first.  I love having the carousel on the counter top for them to browse.  It’s fun to watch them having fun with it but I wasn’t aware that there were varieties of tea available in the K Cups.   I usually have a box or two of Celestial Seasonings in my cupboard anyhow but that meant boiling the kettle and getting out the teapot to brew an entire pot where sometimes all you needed was one cup.  I was thrilled to find Celestial Seasonings available for my Keurig brewer and now I can enjoy my night time cup of herbal tea without going to extreme lengths to get it.

Con:  Now this is ridiculous.  How hard is it to take one single bag of tea and drop it into a cup for a cup of tea?  You don’t have to brew a whole pot just use one teabag in the cup!  And how is it saving time when you have to find the tea K Cup and put it in, and then dispose of the container?  All it does is create more waste in the landfill.

Pro:  There is nothing nicer than coming in from outside in the snow and warming up with a cup of coffee.  In the fall and winter I simply love the Pumpkin Spice, and it is a family favorite around Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays when everyone gathers around.  When it’s pumpkin pie season its the season for pumpkin spice coffee in this house.  It just makes the whole house smell like festive Fall weather.  We love it!

Pro: When I lived in California I used to have a Caribou Coffee near my house.  When I moved it was the first thing I missed and I had been ordering my coffee online from the Caribou website.  I’m so excited that I can order single serving sizes for my Keurig brewer.  It’s awesome.

Con: I tried the Colombian coffee and it tasted pretty much the same as anyone’s Colombian coffee.  Good, but not exceptional by any standard even if the company is ethically responsible.
